Cant sell? Then let

This is something I hear everyday at the moment.Frustrated home owners wanting to move home but finding that the price they want to make the move is not going to be achieved. Advised by their Estate Agent that whatever they are buying, they will be getting at a lower price, is little comfort when every penny matters. Many people I meet have a reason for moving. A growing family, geographical necessity, a lifestyle change. At the moment I am not meeting many people that are moving for more…See More

Good questions, Ryan, and pertinent timing with the discussions abounding about the importance of having a High Street presence. We've drafted a few points that might offer some food for thought: 1. In our area, the two agents who operated…

HOW TO: Measure social media ROI.

Last month, we reported on a survey that found that 84% of social media programs don’t measure return on investment (ROI). The comments in that post indicated that a lot of individuals and businesses want to be able to measure the ROI of their social media strategies and campaigns, but they don’t know where to start. Companies and executives are finally beginning to really jump on the social media bandwagon, and that’s fantastic. However, for social media to fully work (for everyone),… Continue

Regulation in the Lettings Industry

by Sally Asling of SurreyLets ltdLast year the government made plans to change the Lettings industry, to move towards "Licenced Landlords" and the regulation of Letting Agents.

The new coalition government have dropped the proposed landlords Licence and with it the proposals to regulate Letting Agents. According to a survey by the Young Group, 8/10 landlords wanted to see Regulated Letting Agents.

Existing laws mean that anyone can set up as a Letting Agent. Worrying.… Continue

As sales prices dip, what is really happening in the housing market right now?

By Sally Asling of SurreyLets Ltd

Today's news from RICs stating that house prices are starting to fall come as no surprise. Those watching the market since 2008 knew that even when recovery started, it would not fully have corrected itself.

Once prices fell, people sat tight, not selling at "the bottom". The reported rise in property prices was mostly down to a shortage… Continue

Landlords - The lettings market is now in your favor

by Sally Asling of SurreyLets Ltd

The Lettings market is now, most certainly, in the favor of the Landlord.

The change from previous years over supply has now turned. Many Landlords have taken an exit from the Buy-To-Let market to free up equity. Reluctant Landlords took advantage of the brief rise in sales prices earlier in the year to finally sell, and overseas Landlords who rented… Continue
